Eyewear Prescriptions
At Jean Rigby Opticians we are happy to accept spectacle and contact lens prescriptions, for adults and children, from other opticians.
Our dispensing opticians can provide advice on the various lens options available to suit your prescription as well as frames that look stylish and are comfortable to wear.
Thick and heavy lenses are a thing of the past. Nearly everyone can now benefit from thin and light lenses. They significantly improve the appearance and comfort of your spectacles, particularly if you have a high prescription.

Types of Spectacle Lenses
Thinner and Lighter
Advanced lens technology and higher density materials benefit all prescriptions in producing thinner and lighter lenses resulting in increased comfort.
Anti-reflection Coatings
Anti-reflective coatings provide manay advantages such as; reduction of glare from oncoming headlights whilst driving at night and reduced glare from computer screens which reduces eye fatigue.
Photochromic Lenses
Light sensitive lenses darken in the sun and lighten indoors. Available in a choice of grey or brown tints (transitions also available in green – new for 2014), the ideal solution for people who are sensitive to strong light.
Polarised Lenses
Designed to increase comfort by eliminating glare produced by light reflectings off surfaces such as wet roads, car windscreens, water and snow. Perfect for all water sports and skiing, polarised lenses offer full UV protection and are available in single vision, bifocal and varifocal formats.
