Corporate Eye Tests

We partner with a leading provider of corporate eyecare products that are compliant with the Display Screen Equipment (DSE) regulations and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) regulations.

EYE EXAMINATIONS FOR VDU USERS
If you are using a computer screen on a regular basis you are advised to have an eye test annually, and the maximum recommended time between tests is two years. We accept eye care vouchers as payment towards eye examinations. These may be obtained via your HR department.

Make an appointment to get your eyes tested at Jean Rigby Opticians.
Eyewear for Drivers
  • For professional drivers it’s important that your vision meets the minimum visual acuity requirements.
  • For car drivers (Group 1) you must be able to read a vehicle number plate clearly from a distance of 20 metres, equivalent to a visual acuity of at least 6/12 using both eyes together (with glasses or contact lenses if necessary). Corrective lenses should have a power of no more than +8 dioptres.
  • For HGV and bus drivers (Group 2) you must have a visual acuity of at least 6/60 in the other eye. They are permitted to use glasses or contact lenses to meet this measure but the corrective power should be not more than + 8 dioptres for glasses, whereas contact lenses do not have a corrective limit.
Protective Eyewear - Prescription Safety Glasses

Protecting your eyesight whilst working in a hazardous environment is essential. If you ordinarily wear contact lenses or glasses you may wish to consider prescription safety glasses, eyeshield or goggles.

Our safety eyewear products provide a comfortable solution with prescription lenses so you can get on with your job safely.
