Caring for your Contact Lenses

Different types of lenses require different care regimes, so make sure you carefully follow the directions provided for your particular lenses. Following these simple ‘golden rules’ will extend the life of your contact lenses and ensure the health of your eyes.

• Always wash your hands before handling lenses
  Bacteria and dirt can build up on the hands and fingers, so wash them with soap and dry them with a clean towel or hand dryer.
•  Keep lenses clean
  Always make sure you thoroughly clean, rinse and disinfect your lenses regularly using a fresh dose of the correct solution. Never use tap water or saliva as these are not sterile.
• Don’t leave them in too long
  Wear and replace lenses according to the schedule prescribed by your eye care professional.
•  Store them in a safe place
  Use a secure contact lens storage case and clean it with fresh solution, keep the case open and dry between cleanings.
