What does an OCT Scan do?
Many common eye diseases can creep up on you without any significant symptoms. So, even if your vision and eyes appear perfectly fine it is useful for optician to gain a full understanding of your overall health through additional tests.
In particular an OCT scan can help to detect eye conditions like glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopothy. Your optician may recommend an OCT scan at your eye examination to provide a Vaseline image.
An OCT scan can help your optician to see what’s going on beneath the surface of your eye providing a picture of the layers of your retina.

Step 1 – Book an appointment with us
Step 2 – We will scan your eyes using a state-of-the-art 3D OCT camera
Step 3 – The high resolution images are examined by the optometrist using specialist built-in analysis tools
Step 4 – The results are presented to you.
Step 5 – Any future scans can be compared with previous ones for comparative diagnosis
